SF dining destination since 1999 with excellent food plus foreign and indie films screened on a large wall of the outdoor covered patio. Dinner and brunch.
**Closed 2-5pm Sat**
Diners return again and again to this long-beloved magical spot with consistently excellent food and vibe. By husband/wife duo with Bay Area pedigree from Zuni Cafe & Chez Panisse.
Both dinner and weekend brunch are not-to-miss, with ever-changing menus per the availability of organic, seasonal produce, meat and fish. The oyster bar has a good selection of local & West Coast oysters, plus shellfish and sustainable caviar.
Don’t miss house-cured local sardines or anchovies on the side. Also made in house: charcuterie, burratta, cultured butter, and more.
The atmosphere is industrial chic with a lively, warm vibe thanks to the outdoor firepit, indoor fireplace, and open kitchen. Art is prominently displayed. Inside features avant-garde post-World War II Polish movie posters, and outside boasts a stunning colorful mural by artist Jet Martinez.
