Classic Bay Area bakery outpost inside the Ferry Building
The Ferry Building location offers breads, pastries, plus a few prepared sandwiches and small pizzas.
Acme Bread is a renown pioneer in the artisan bread movement and was started by an original baker from Chez Panisse in the 1970s who wanted to help set a higher standard for the bread offered in restaurants and stores.
Everything is wonderful and made from whole-grain 100% Organic flour and ingredients.
All “Sourdough” and “levain” breads (and more) are leavened with naturally-occurring wild yeast starters rather than bakers yeast.
What to Order:
- So much is wonderful… a few favorites: Multi-grain Spelt, available only on Thursdays & Saturdays
- Buckwheat Meteil (with or without rasins), Saturdays only
- Cranberry Walnut
- Olive Bread
